We recently completed a raccoon removal project in Markham, after receiving a call from a homeowner who reported hearing heavy scratching and movement noises coming from their attic during the night. The property, located near Highway 7 and McCowan Road, had ongoing disturbances for several days, leading the client to contact us for a professional inspection.
Upon arrival, our technician carried out a full exterior and attic inspection. During the process, we discovered the main entry point above the roofline where raccoons had pried open a vulnerable section. This gap provided direct access into the attic space. To safely and humanely resolve the issue, we installed a one-way door over the entry hole, which allowed the raccoons to exit but prevented them from re-entering the home.
In addition to the one-way door installation, our technician reinforced the area with galvanized wire mesh to ensure the raccoons could not damage or reopen the entry point in the future. We also inspected other vulnerable sections of the property, such as roof vents, soffits, and gaps along the eaves. All potential entry points were secured with galvanized wire mesh to provide a long-term exclusion solution.
By the end of the service, the property was fully protected against re-entry, and the client was relieved knowing their home was now raccoon-free and properly secured.
