We were recently called by a homeowner near Bovaird Drive and Chinguacousy Road in Brampton, Ontario, who reported a raccoon on their roof. Concerned about the potential for roof damage or entry into the attic, the homeowner requested immediate assistance with safe raccoon removal.
Upon arrival, our experienced wildlife technician located the raccoon perched along the edge of the rain gutter. Raccoons often use rooflines, gutters, and soffits as access points to sheltered areas, especially during nesting or mating seasons.
To ensure a safe and humane removal, the technician used a professional snare pole to gently capture the raccoon without causing it stress or injury. Once secured, the raccoon was placed in a live animal cage and transported approximately one kilometre away from the home, in accordance with Ontario wildlife regulations.
In addition to the removal, the technician inspected the roofline and surrounding areas for potential re-entry points. He immediately reinforced the vulnerable section of the gutter and installed galvanized wire mesh to prevent future intrusions—all completed on the same day to give the homeowner peace of mind.
