Our raccoon removal project involved the humane removal of a raccoon that had nested under a client’s deck in the vibrant Toronto neighborhood near Bellevue Avenue, a major intersection with Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street. This area, known for its tree-lined streets, historic homes, and close-knit community, is also a hotspot for wildlife activity due to its proximity to parks and green spaces.
The situation began when the homeowner, located just off Bellevue Avenue, noticed unusual noises coming from under their deck. Upon investigation, they discovered a raccoon had created a den. Our technician arrived promptly to assess the situation and implemented a one-way door system. This device allowed the raccoon to exit freely but prevented re-entry, ensuring a safe and ethical removal process.
After confirming the raccoon had left, the technician sealed all entry points to prevent future intrusions. Additionally, the client was provided with preventive tips to deter wildlife, such as securing garbage bins and trimming overhanging tree branches near their property.
The project was completed efficiently, resolving the issue without harm to the animal or disruption to the client’s property. The streets around Bellevue Avenue, including Spadina Avenue, Nassau Street, Sussex Avenue, Phoebe Street, Robert Street, Brunswick Avenue, and Ulster Street, are now better informed about humane wildlife removal practices, thanks to our work in the community.
