We were contacted by a homeowner in Richmond Hill, near the intersection of Bathurst Street and Carrville Road, who reported unusual noises coming from their attic. The client suspected raccoons but was unable to access the attic due to its tight and enclosed design. They requested our help in safely removing the animals.
Our wildlife removal technician arrived at the property located on Roseview Avenue and carried out a thorough exterior inspection. We discovered that a mother raccoon had accessed the attic through a gap in the soffit and had given birth to her babies inside.
To humanely evict the mother, we installed a one-way door over the soffit entry point. This specialized door allows raccoons to exit but prevents them from re-entering. Once the mother raccoon exited through the one-way door, our technician carefully cut a small access hole in the attic ceiling and located the babies.
Wearing protective gear and following safe handling procedures, the technician removed the baby raccoons by hand and placed them in a secure, ventilated container near the original entry point. This gave the mother raccoon an opportunity to retrieve and relocate her young to a new den site, as is common raccoon behavior.
After confirming the mother had retrieved all the babies, we returned to the property, removed the one-way door, and repaired the soffit to prevent future wildlife entry.
