We recently received a call from a homeowner near Bur Oak Avenue in Markham who had been hearing strange noises coming from their attic for several days. Concerned about possible wildlife activity, they requested a full inspection.
Upon thorough inspection of the attic, our team discovered that a mother raccoon had made a den and was caring for a litter of babies. Using a thermal imaging (heat) camera, we carefully located the exact spot where the babies were nested behind a section of the wall.
To safely access the babies, we made a precise cut in the wall and gently removed them using a humane snare pole. Once the babies were secure, we installed a one-way door at the main entry point. This allowed the mother raccoon to exit the attic safely but prevented her from returning.
