To ensure the mother had only one way out and could not return into the house, we installed a one-way door over the entry hole she had created. Sure enough, within about an hour, the mother raccoon exited through the one-way door, located her babies outside, and began moving them to a new, safer location.
Once we confirmed all animals had vacated the space, we returned to repair the wall and securely seal the entry point with galvanized wire mesh to prevent future access.
